Caring for the AONB
The landscape of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB is cherished as a peaceful haven by all those living in and visiting the area. It’s treasured for its open spaces, commanding views and cultural richness.
But this beautiful place doesn’t look after itself. There are many whose life’s work is to keep the landscape special. Local farmers, volunteers and countryside staff have tended the land for generations.
Together these land managers care for this wonderful scenery, its habitats, wildlife and heritage. Landmark successes in recent years include great improvements to the heather moorland and to the Iron Age hillforts of the Clwydian Range and Llantysilio Mountains.
Both our thriving local communities and the visitors who love this area and keep returning to it are working in partnership with the AONB.
By taking the trouble to get involved and play an active part, they are giving themselves a stake in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley. They are investing in its future. And they have turned the AONB into a flagship for sustainable development and forward planning.
You can help with this. Please be sensitive to the needs of all who live, work and play here when you visit the AONB. And consider joining the many people who gain fulfillment and fun by volunteering.
